GEKKO can define on-board T and Y welds using a parametric definition.
The probe can be positioned on any surface. GEKKO can display an overlay of the geometry taking into account rebounds off the geometry to detect where the indications are coming from.
Mapping improvement with TFM. The dead zone is reduced: corrosion detection till 1mm under the surface, and the full description of the corroded profile for more accurate measurements.

RESIDUAL THICKNESS FOR CORROSION
Corrosion-erosion may occur close to welds, mainly on carbon steel assembly. The Inspection can be difficult because of the irregular surface profile when the weld is not ground, or restricted access to both sides of the assembly (ie. in case of pipes).
This presentation shows an Adaptive UT method to measure the residual thickness through surface with varying geometry, coupled to Total Focusing Method, to optimize detection and accuracy on backwall measurement. The proposed solution is called Adaptive Total Focusing Method (ATFM).
