MultiX systems benefits of a parallel and modular hardware architecture allowing to build 32 to 128 channels systems to better fit to all requirements for laboratory and industrial environment.

Such a structure offers all combinations between transmitter/receivers and digitised channels; it can drive all array probe design (linear, matrix) and applies all conventional inspection modes (pulse-echo, through transmission, tandem, twin crystals, Tofd…), or you can create your own inspection mode.

Parallel architecture allows simultaneous transmission and reception over all probe elements and associated channels. Data processing and signal reconstruction are quickly supported by the hardware (using FPGA, PowerPC).

Such structure is specially relevant for :

- High speed automated inspection mode (ex: Paintbrush) used for in line test of long product (tube, bar, plate…).

- 2D and 3D Reconstruction algorithm using FMC (Full Matrix Capture) mode.

Multi2000 software controls the hardware; it describes the testing configuration, acquires and displays data from the inspection. CIVA modules are included in our software to simulate the testing configuration and compute relevant focal laws.

Software applications can be downloaded on the hardware, and controlled by Multi2000. Such software aperture allows driving Conformable transducers developed at CEA; smart and flexible, these probes can adapt themselves to varying control conditions on complex shape component.

Remote/Control software tools are supplied to integrate M2M systems inside automatic inspection machine. These tools make use of Ethernet to control M2M software and hardware, to synchronise them with external devices and to export data resulting from the inspection.
