Full Matrix Capture
Full matrix capture (FMC) is a specific data-acquisition process
using ultrasonic phased-array probes.
For an array of N elements, each element is successively used as
transmitter, while all other elements are used receivers.
The data are organized in a matrix S that contains all the
acquired signals. Sij contains the signal transmitted by element i and received by element j.
The full signal-matrix may now be used for processing. Total
Focusing Methods (TFM) may be computed from this data set.
ith element is firing, jth element is listening. Sij is recorded
in the signal matrix. For an array with N elements, i and j
belong to [1; N].
